Arrival at Marrakech Airport

The Marrakech Menara airport is very central to the city. The new terminal has all the necessary facilities such as exchange offices and ATMs. On the site there is a fee-based WiFi access. Upon arrival, one must first obtain an entry card, if that was not already distributed in the plane. Then join the line at the Police desk and get the entry stamp. Then to the baggage claim and proceed through customs, that's usually all very fast. Transportation to the center is waiting outside the terminal.

Taxi - Just in front of the terminal is the taxi station. There are both "Petit taxi", carrying only up to three people, they can not leave the city, as well as "Grand Taxis" for up to five people who drive in the city and to destinations beyond. Grand Taxis cost about 50-60 DH for the whole car ride, but they don’t enter the narrow medina. Petit taxis are metered, the price to the city center is about 30 DH during the day, at night it is a premium, it will cost about 50 DH. Since there are no fixed prices the drivers often try to get a much higher price, discuss before departure the price.

Bus – On the left side of the terminal behind the taxis is the bus number 19 directly to the Djemaa el-Fna. He drives on the Avenue de la Menara, where many of the larger hotels are located. Departure at the airport every hour on the hour from 7:00 bis 0:00 clock. The bus takes the route Avenue de la Menara, Hivernage, Djemaa el-Fna, Bab Doukkala and Gueliz back to the airport. Departure from the Djemaa el-Fna to the airport is at every quarter past the hour from 6:15 bis 00:15 clock. Depending on traffic, the bus takes from there to the airport about half an hour. The single ticket costs 2 € or 20 DH, the retour ticket 30 DH (valid for 2 weeks).
